How to blur out sensitive parts of a photo

  • 1. Add your image.
  • 2. Drag the box over the face, plate, or text you want to hide, and resize it with the corners.
  • 3. Choose blur or pixelate and turn up the strength for sensitive content.
  • 4. Download. To hide several areas, download and re-upload to blur the next one.

Frequently asked questions

Can I blur more than one area?

Blur one region and download, then re-upload the result and blur the next area. Each pass stacks on the previous one.

Is blur or pixelate more private?

Both hide detail. Use a strong setting — a light blur on a face or plate can sometimes be reversed, so err on the side of heavier blur/pixelation for sensitive content.

Are my images uploaded?

No. The blur is applied in your browser; the image never leaves your device — which is the point when you're hiding sensitive information.

How this tool helps

Faces, license plates, addresses, and private screens may need to be hidden before publication. Use strong blur or pixelation for sensitive details and inspect the whole result before sharing.

How to use it

  1. Add an image and drag the selection over the sensitive region.
  2. Resize the box, choose blur or pixelate, and increase strength.
  3. Download the result; repeat with another pass for multiple regions.

Example

Pixelate a license plate in a street photo before posting it to a public forum.

What you get

Only the selected region is altered; the rest of the image remains unchanged.

Good to know

Limitations: A light effect may leave details readable. Use a strong setting and verify the downloaded file, especially for faces and text.

Privacy: The image never leaves the browser, which is especially important for the sensitive content this tool is designed to hide.
