How to watermark an image

  • 1. Add your photo.
  • 2. Type your watermark text and choose where it sits.
  • 3. Adjust size and opacity — a subtle, semi-transparent mark looks professional; tiling protects the whole image.
  • 4. Download the watermarked photo.

Frequently asked questions

Can I add a logo image instead of text?

This tool adds a text watermark, which is the most common need for names, URLs, and copyright notices. For a logo, export it as text-free art and overlay it in an editor.

Will the watermark be removable?

A tiled, semi-transparent watermark across the whole image is much harder to remove than a single corner mark. Use the 'tile' option for stronger protection.

Are my images uploaded?

No. The watermark is drawn onto your image in your browser; nothing is uploaded.

How this tool helps

A visible label can identify ownership or discourage casual reuse when an image is shared. Use a subtle watermark for previews, social posts, drafts, or client proofs; keep an unwatermarked master separately.

How to use it

  1. Add an image and enter the watermark text.
  2. Choose position, color, size, and opacity.
  3. Check readability, then download the marked copy.

Example

Add a photographer's name to a proof sheet without covering the main subject.

What you get

The text is rendered into a new image; the original remains unchanged.

Good to know

Limitations: A watermark is a deterrent, not copy protection. Low opacity can be hard to read and high opacity can hide detail.

Privacy: Watermarking is done locally in the browser.
